YogaRosa Retreats, Ibiza
Tucked away in a tranquil forest in the heart of the Ibizan countryside, YogaRosa is the perfect embodiment of holistic Ibiza, a world filled with aromatic lavender with a cool breeze blowing through the shady pine-filled finca where urban life quickly comes to feel a distant memory.
Five bedrooms are arranged in a traditional style around converted fincas, with decoration that is equal parts stylish and homely, relaxing and comfortable. Shady cushion-filled corners, colourful hammocks and reclining sun-beds allow you to relax into your own corner of the rolling gardens filled with tranquility.
My room, Finca Can Piedra, felt like a palace complete with a large living room and mediterranean style kitchen, with small furnishings adding the yogi-touch.
The yoga shala, with it’s tented canopy, looks out to the green fields beyond. It perfectly catches an Ibizan breeze that breathes a new fresh air into your practice. It is here each morning that Rosa guides guests through an hour and a half of Kriya Yoga Asanas with a flow designed to strengthen the internal organs and bring balance to the mind. Evening meditations are focused on pranayama accompanied by the healing sounds of a crystal bowl to experience a deeper emotional healing. Pranayama is fundamental in Rosa’s philosophy, helping the body to move more freely and assisting with cell regeneration.
The heart of the retreat lies in Rosa herself. Numerous journeys of discovery to India have led Rosa to ooze a passion for her practice that she inspiringly passes onto her clients. Her unique therapeutic approach allows the body to release negative energies, unblock restrictions and restore health and wellbeing. But beyond the yoga, Rosa makes you feel welcomed as if into her home where her ultimate desire is your pure contentment.
Meals take place around an extended wooden table on a terrace draped in jasmine and lavender, filling the area with a peaceful scent. Chef and nutritionist Claudia puts her heart and soul into preparing balanced vegan meals that nourish your body. Careful explanation is given on the selection of each ingredient and method of preparation. Having supplemented her skills with cooking courses in ashrams in India, Claudia has a deep understanding of what the body needs during a yoga retreat, resulting in her meals perfectly complementing the asana & pranayama practice.
Animals roam free around the roaming grounds. Pigs scratching their backs against the wooden floor during morning yoga, dogs waiting for the final om to come with their pine cones to play. Chickens filling the backyard. All creatures are welcomed and respected and their freedom and happiness adds an extra element of serenity to the stay.
YogaRosa is the perfect space to release your mind from city life. Rosa’s passion for her practice will infectiously lead you to make readjustments to your life after the retreat. A uniquely unforgettable haven of nature and holistic charm, where practice, nutrition and relaxation combine to create an overwhelming sense of tranquility and peace.
